Reuben Stone / Product Engineer

I build software products, and the systems behind them.

I'm a senior product engineer with more than a decade of experience building digital products for technology companies, agencies and global brands. My work spans product architecture, React and TypeScript applications, backend services, AI-enabled systems and interactive web experiences.

Recently I've been exploring the engineering around persistent AI systems: context, tools, workflow state, recovery, verification and human control.

Artemis

A desktop AI operations system for tending a portfolio of software repositories. Artemis can monitor multiple projects, dispatch engineering work into isolated worktrees, and return gated pull requests for review. The case study explores how I evolved its architecture around explicit workflow state, selective context, recovery and measurable reliability.

Lumi / Livana

Building accessibility software around a practical audit, remediation and verification workflow for product teams.

I'm particularly interested in what happens when language models become components inside persistent software systems rather than isolated chat interfaces.

My current work explores workflow orchestration, selective context, constrained tools, durable state, failure recovery, observability and human approval boundaries.

I'm a product engineer with more than ten years of experience building software across agencies, product teams and technology companies.

I started deep in the frontend, where I developed a strong interest in interaction, product quality and the details users actually experience. Over time my work expanded into architecture, backend services, infrastructure, internal tooling and product ownership.

More recently I've been working with AI-enabled products and exploring the systems required to make model-driven software useful beyond a chat interface: persistent state, context selection, tools, recovery, verification and human control.

I still care about the interface. I just increasingly care about everything that has to work behind it too.
